Criminal Investigation Award

Detectives Dominic DeRose, Ryan Poling, and Jeff Hunt for their investigation into a subject dealing large quantities of drugs in the New Richmond area. The grand jury, returned a twelve count criminal indictment. The subject was convicted on each of the twelve counts and sentenced to a prison term of twenty years and nine months.

Criminal Investigation Award

Detectives Chris Allen, Nick Crouch, Mike Robinson, Eric Goldsmith, Lori Saylor received the award for their investigation into the report of a woman who was attacked and sexually assaulted in her home. The suspect was a sex offender with an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. A number of search warrants were executed and several days were spent in Kentucky working with state and local police to apprehend the suspect. He was captured, indicted, tried, and sentenced to thirty-years in prison.

Criminal Investigation Award

Detective Eric Goldsmith investigated the case of the rape of two underage males. The suspect was indicted on multiple counts of Rape, Gross Sexual Imposition against the first victim and multiple counts of Rape and Corrupting Another with Drugs against the second victim. The suspect was found guilty on all counts of rape in these cases and sentenced to 161 years in the Ohio State Penal system, the longest sentence ever issued in Clermont County.

Criminal Investigation Award

Detective Lori Saylor investigated the sexual abuse of an underage girl, which also revealed a large amount of child pornography, and the abuse of eleven more children. This case went to the Federal Grand Jury where the suspect was indicted on charges of Obscene Visual Representation of Sexual Abuse of Children, Production of Child Pornography, Receipt of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography. He received five years in the Ohio State Penal System, and eighty five years in federal prison.

Merit/Bravery

Deputy Bill Brewer was recognized for his assistance in the arrest of a shoplifting suspect who fought with Deputy Brewer causing him to be hit by a passing car as the suspect fled on foot.

Distinguished Career Awards

Sergeant Matt Farmer and Deputy Geoff Hultgren both retired and were recognized for their service.
