Subject: Drug Round-up in Union Township, Clermont County
Union Township, Clermont County - The Clermont County Narcotics Unit and the Union Township Police Department received numerous complaints regarding suspected drug activity in the Piccadilly Square/Southern Trace Apartment complexes over the past several months. These complexes are located along Beechmont Avenue in the Cherry Grove area of Union Township. Subsequently, an investigation developed and became a priority for case agents of the Narcotics Unit and several officers of Union Township. During the course of the investigation, undercover agents were able to purchase Oxycontin, Vicodin, Fantanyl, Ritalin, crack cocaine, Valium, cocaine, heroin, marijuana and Percocet from known traffickers in the Union Township area.
Twenty-eight individuals have been identified and charged with a total of twenty one felony drug offenses as a part of this extended investigation. The dollar value of the drugs seized is estimated at $13,000.00. The Clermont County Grand Jury considered many of these cases on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, and returned indictments for twelve individuals and nineteen felony charges. The remaining individuals were charged prior to January 16, 2008. The attached summary will provide information about the suspects and their charges. Photographs of those charged are available, after arrest, through Mary Gregory 732-7405. This matter remains under investigation and follow-up. No other information is available at this time though additional information will be provided as it becomes available. Deputies and Union Township Police remain active today attempting the arrest warrants of those indicted on January 16, 2008.
The Clermont County Narcotics Unit is comprised of deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, and officers from the Union Township and Milford Police Departments.
