Subject: Snow Emergency - Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:30PM

After conferring with the Clermont County Department of Public Services, county engineer, and other officials throughout Clermont County I have declared a Level Two Snow Emergency for Clermont County. A Level Two snow emergency is as follows:

Level Two:  "ROADWAYS ARE HAZARDOUS WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. ONLY THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO FEEL IT IS NECESSARY TO DRIVE SHOULD BE OUT ON THE ROADWAYS. CONTACT YOUR EMPLOYER TO SEE IF YOU SHOULD REPORT FOR WORK."

In addition, Road Patrol personnel of the Clermont County Sheriff's Office will not respond to non-emergency calls for service unless approved by the First-Line Supervisor on duty.  Citizens requesting a report or other information deemed non-emergency in nature will be directed to contact the Duty Officer for the report or collect the necessary information and contact a Sheriff’s Deputy after the emergency has subsided.  Those involved in minor traffic crashes not requiring a law enforcement response are encouraged to exchange names, addresses, and insurance information, of those involved and contact a Sheriff’s Deputy after the emergency has ended.

Local police and agencies or townships may have different policies during such situations. The above applies to the Sheriff’s Office only.
