Clermont County Sheriff’s Office

Subject: Six charged with Manufacture and Distribution of Methamphetamine

Date: April 7, 2005

The Clermont County Grand Jury reports that four persons were indicted on April 6, 2005 charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activities (a felony of the 1st degree that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a $25,000.00 fine under the organized crime statute) and related offenses consisting of Manufacture and Distribution of Methamphetamine.

The eight month investigation was a result of gathering information, surveillance and other investigative methods provided by multiple law enforcement agencies. During the investigation, it was discovered that the subjects were working together in the setup of manufacturing and distribution points within Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Highland and Warren Counties, as well as Goshen Township and the Village of Blanchester. Some of the offenses date back to the spring of 2000.

Those indicted are: Gerald Sherrod Jr., Age 25, of 17307 US 68, Mt. Orab, OH 45154; Phillip McMullen, Age 43, of 1755 Stumpy Lane, Goshen, OH 45122; Paul Ross, Age 33, currently incarcerated in the Ohio Department of Corrections; Rachel Tarry, Age 21, of 527 W. Elm St., Washington Court House, OH 43160.

Once the investigation was complete, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit presented their case to the Grand Jury, which resulted in the indictments.

Two additional subjects were previously indicted in connection with this organization; Eddie Williams, Age 28, currently incarcerated in the Clermont County Jail, was indicted on March 2, 2005 on charges of Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activities and the Illegal Manufacture of Drugs.   Denver Melampy; Age 25 of 138 Holly Park Dr., Loveland, OH 45140, was indicted on March 9, 2005 on charges of Burglary, Felony Auto Theft and Felony Theft.

Complex cases such as this can only be successfully resolved through the cooperation of mutual agencies. Agencies from Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Highland and Warren Counties, Goshen Township and the Village of Blanchester contributed to the investigation.

The Clermont County Narcotics Unit is comprised of officers from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Union and Miami Townships Police Departments and the City of Milford Police Department. The investigation into this matter is continuing. Mary Gregory can be reached at 732-7405 should you request assistance with photographs of the individuals mentioned above, providing the arrest warrants have been served.
