Re:  Stolen Property and Drugs

Wayne Township, Clermont County, Ohio - The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Offices of Adams, Brown, Clinton and Highland Counties have been conducting a six-month investigation of suspects involved in an interstate theft ring involving motor vehicles, construction, and farm equipment.  Additionally, these individuals were suspected in the illegal manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine within a multi-county area.

As a result of this investigation, Jarrod Messer, D.O.B. 12/22/70, residing at 6051 Marathon Edenton Rd. in Wayne Twp. was identified as one of the primary participants.

On April 14, 2007, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit received information that Jarrod Messer had been arrested for theft and possession of methamphetamine by an officer from the Union Twp. Police Department.  As a result of his arrest, coupled with previously obtained intelligence, a search warrant was executed by deputies at 6051 Marathon Edenton Road. This same residence was the scene of another search warrant in December of 2003, which led to the discovery of methamphetamine.

Recovered during the most recent search were: four (4) stolen vehicles, two (2) stolen tractors, various items used in construction, eighteen (18) firearms including two(2) sawed-off shotguns and drug paraphernalia used in the illegal manufacturing and abuse of methamphetamine.  Information was also obtained that a storage facility in Brown County was being utilized by this group to conceal a stolen 2002 Chevrolet Camaro, which is believed to have been stolen from Lexington, Kentucky.

This investigation is continuing with the findings to be presented to the Clermont County Grand Jury at a later date Anyone with additional information may call Agent Marc Sorbello at 625-2806; the identity of those calling is protected. Due to the complexity of this investigation no further information can or will be released until the investigation is concluded; additional information will be released to you at that time.
