Drug Investigation

Pierce Township, Clermont County, Ohio-  Sheriff A.J. Rodenberg reports that, “On January 22, 2009, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit along with the Pierce Township Police Department executed a search warrant at 1399 Lakewood Drive, in Pierce Township. Several citizen complaints were received by the Pierce Township Police Department along with calls to the Clermont County Narcotics Unit concerning suspicious activity at that location.  As a result, an investigation was initiated and subsequently the Clermont County Narcotics Task Force and Pierce Township police secured enough information for a search warrant of the premises.  No injuries or complications resulted from the search.” 

Chief Deputy Rick W. Combs stated, “Investigators searched the residence and removed a quantity of suspected heroin which will require analysis and identification by a laboratory. In addition, four firearms were removed along with paraphernalia used in the distribution and abuse of heroin and cocaine.” Combs said, “This residence was the scene of an overdose death in June 2007 and most recently a home invasion robbery. 

Arrested was Michael Curtis 28 years of age, address of 1399 Lakewood Drive, Pierce Township. He was charged with Weapons under Disability a felony of the 3rd degree, and will make a court appearance on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Municipal Court. The investigation is continuing in this matter may result in additional charges when the Grand Jury meets”

Police Chief James Smith of the Pierce Township Police Department reiterated “the zero tolerance policy of both agencies and their commitment to the citizens of this community to combat drugs whenever and wherever found”.

The Clermont County Narcotics Unit works under the auspices of the Clermont County Sheriff and is comprised of Sheriff’s Deputies and officers from the Union, Pierce, and Miami Township Police Departments and the City of Milford Police Department.
