Chris Stratton began his career in law enforcement in 1993 as a Road Patrol Deputy, then became an Investigator in 2003.
In 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, assigned to the Road Patrol. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Investigative Unit.
In 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Captain overseeing the Investigations section as well as the Clermont County Narcotics Unit.
Throughout his career at the Sheriff’s Office, Chris has served in several special units including the Sheriff’s Honor Guard, K-9 unit, and the SRT unit.
Captain Stratton graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Captain Stratton has continued his professional education by attending a number of advanced investigative courses which included Homicide Investigation at the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute, Advanced Death Investigations and Medicolegal Investigation at Wayne State University. Captain Stratton is also a graduate of the "Public Safety Leadership Academy", John Glenn College of Public Affairs, at The Ohio State University.
