Clermont County Sheriff Canine Unit
The Sheriff’s Office currently has two canine units. All the canines and handlers attend training programs meeting State of Ohio canine certification criteria.
Corporal Popham’s partner is Lego, a German Shepherd trained in patrol duties.
Officer Heist’s partner, Deborah—a German Shorthaired Pointer—is trained in narcotics detection. Officer Heist and Deborah are assigned to the Corrections Division.
Officer Ryan’s partner, Buckley, is a German Shorthaired Pointer is trained in narcotics detection.
Officer Ryan and Buckley are assigned to the Corrections Division.
Deputy Bates’s partner is Sammy, a Bloodhound trained in tracking.
